Let me take the time here to introduce myself. My name is Kyra (if you hadn’t guessed already), I’m a mummy to two beautiful children and I work as a frontline Paramedic for the NHS.

I have always had a love for creating things and I have always been one to give home-made gifts. I love taking the time to create something beautiful and personalised for people. Having such an uncommon name and always being disappointed that I would never find anything with Kyra on in a gift shop fuelled me to create a space for everyone to be able to have something created with their name on.

Kyra’s Creations came about with the help of many other people. The first being my cousin who introduced me to the world of being able to create such personalised gifts. I wanted to create a pregnancy reveal gift for my immediate family to let them know when my first bundle of joy was on their way. The first items we made was a baby vest and a bib to match. After creating that I was hooked. I could not stop thinking about the things I wanted to make and the possibilities were endless. I ended up borrowing my cousins clever machine that allowed me to create such personal and creative things. The day then came when I got my own machine and that’s when I really went wild.

Kyra’s creations was born during my maternity leave of my first child. I started off by making a few things here and there for friends and family and then it started to gain some popularity.

When the planning begun for my first born first birthday, I desperately wanted a balloon arch as a backdrop for all of our photos. In searching around in realised how expensive and quite unaffordable they were on a maternity leave budget. I didn’t want to let a low budget stop me from creating the best first birthday party so I learned how to create my own balloon arch. After being able to practice at many family events I then became confident enough to offer these out beyond friends and family. With my low prices these became popular which again filled me with such joy.

During my maternity leave with my second child is when I learned the skill of sewing. My aunty let me borrow one of her old sewing machines and the creativity expanded. I started by making myself a few nursing tops to easily breastfeed but once I had made enough tops I didn’t want to stop sewing. I then found some patterns online and starting practicing some other useful things such as bookmarks and hair scrunchies.

In creating these few little things they started to become popular amongst friends and families and wanted them for gifts. I let myself get carried away in making a huge variety so people had a selection to choose from and that’s when my website was created.

This is my safe space for all of my craft activities. I am constantly learning about new things to make and forever working to expand my business to keep creating as many beautiful things for everyone. Everything is priced to make minimal profit to make personalised items as affordable to all as I can.
